1. JOB IDENTIFICATION
Job Title: HR Business Partner (HRBP)
Department: Human Resources
Location: Port Harcourt, Nigeria
2. ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
-
Directly Reports to: HR Director
-
Indirectly Reports to: General Manager, Operations
-
Supervises: Foremen, HR/Admin Officers
-
Indirect Oversight: Over 100 skilled and unskilled workers across multiple sites
3. JOB SUMMARY
The HRBP partners strategically with ichr group’s leadership, foremen, and clients to ensure effective HR management across operational sites. This role drives talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and compliance while working proactively and independently within a field-focused environment.
4. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Responsibilities:

Primary HR liaison supporting foremen, supervisors, and field
-
Manage recruitment, onboarding, payroll coordination, and workforce
-
Conduct site visits for engagement, compliance, and safety
-
Support disciplinary processes, performance issues, and grievance
-
Liaise with the HR Director and GM Operations to align HR strategy with business
Key Responsibilities/Major Tasks:

Lead recruitment for skilled and unskilled
-
Identify training needs and roll out development
-
Foster client relationships and ensure HR support aligns with project
-
Implement performance appraisal systems to drive
-
Monitor HR metrics and feedback to inform leadership
-
Assist with HR policy development, change management, and employee engagement
5. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
-
Project staffing readiness and
-
Compliance with labor laws, safety standards, and internal HR
-
HRD, Foremen and client satisfaction with HR
-
Reduction in delays in HR legal and internal documentation, turnover, absenteeism, and disciplinary incidences.
-
Completion of training/development initiatives and accurate HR
6. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
-
Bachelor’s or higher in HR Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field.
-
Minimum 5 years of HR experience, preferably in field/operational contexts (e.g., construction, oil & gas).
-
CIPM or equivalent HR certification highly
7. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
-
Comprehensive knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR
-
Proficiency in HRIS, payroll systems, and workforce management
-
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and client relationship
-
Strong initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work with minimal
-
Effective communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution
8. REMUNERATION
100,000 – 120,000 per month.
